The Faculty of Education, Olabisi Onabanjo University under the leadership of the Dean of the Faculty, Professor (Mrs) Janet Adetayo will on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 hold the 5th induction ceremony for the 2023/2024 graduates of the Faculty at the Otunba Gbenga Daniel (0GD) Hall, Main Campus, Ago-lwoye, by 12noon.
At the ceremony, which marks a key milestone for graduates who have completed their teacher training programmes and met TRCN’s professional standards, the newly qualified teachers from Olabisi Onabanjo University will be formally admitted into teaching profession and registered as licensed teachers by the Registrar/Chief Executive of TRCN, the regulatory body of the teaching profession in Nigeria, Dr. Ronke Soyombo.
The induction lecture themed “Professional Ethics, ldentity, and Accountability in the Conduct of Teachers in the 21″ Century” will be delivered by the immediate-past Provost, Sikiru Adetona College of Education, Science and Technology (formerly, Tai Solarin College of Education), Omu Ajose, an alumnus of the institution and currently the Special Adviser to Ogun State Governor on Education, Dr. Lukmon Adeola Kiadese.
Under the Chairmanship of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ayodeji Agboola, the sth edition of the ceremony underscores the University’s partnership with TRCN to align teachers training with national standard and consequently strengthens the link between academic preparation and professional practice.
Speaking ahead of the ceremony, the Chairman, Faculty Induction Committee, Dr. Peter Abayomi Onanuga, said “The induction is not just a ceremony, it reflects TRCN’s commitment to raising the quality and professionalism of teachers in Nigeria basic and post-basic educational system”. We are proud of our graduates who are about to join the teaching profession” he added.
All inductees are advised to arrive early and come with the required items as communicated by the Faculty of Education while members of the University Community, including staff and students, are invited to join the eminent guests at the event.
