NY Mets vs Phillies live updates, score and analysis of today's game

PHILADELPHIA — The Mets have not won three games in a row since late in May when they closed out a series with the Reds with a win and then swept the Marlins.

In the month since, the Mets have found themselves treading water, with a 8-8 record in June.

The Mets have a chance to capture their third straight win and a series victory over the rival Phillies at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday night at Citizens Bank Park.

The club shook off back-to-back losses against the Reds by toppling them 9-1 in the series finale and then surging past the Phillies in a 6-4 win on Thursday night.

The Mets will be tested in their quest as they take on left-hander Cristopher Sanchez, who is on the short list for the National league Cy Young award about three months into the season. Sanchez is 8-3 with a 1.82 ERA in 15 starts this season. He has allowed two earned runs or fewer in 13 of those outings.

The Mets will counter with Freddy Peralta, who is 5-5 with a 3.90 ERA in 15 starts, including a 1.30 WHIP and 81 strikeouts in 83 innings. On the heels of giving up a season-high six runs against the Cardinals, Peralta responded by holding the Braves to one run on five innings and securing the victory in his last start.
