Disrupted follows Pete, a longtime Oakland resident struggling to navigate a tech-driven, gentrified landscape that has rendered his existence increasingly precarious. Though a reformed ex-convict who has achieved sobriety and reconciled with his daughter, Pete is thrust back into a cycle of violence when a local murder bears a haunting resemblance to the unsolved killing of his wife decades prior. Encouraged by a retired detective, Pete embarks on a descent into the city's underbelly to find the killer, only to find his renewed quest for justice threatening the fragile stability he worked so hard to build.
Directed and written by Andre Welsh, Disrupted functions as a modern street thriller that weaves neo-noir sensibilities into a narrative deeply rooted in socioeconomic anxiety. The film stars Ron Kaell as Pete, alongside Geoffrey Lower as the cold, sociopathic real estate tycoon Harold Price, and Daniel Roebuck.
