Not for sale: Arsenal told they have no chance of signing 21-year-old attacking sensation

Arsenal’s hopes of signing Kenan Yildiz have suffered a significant setback after Juventus manager Luciano Spalletti made it clear that he has no intention of losing the highly-rated Turkey international.

The Gunners have been exploring attacking reinforcements during the final stages of the summer window, with Yildiz emerging as an ambitious target.

However, Juventus consider the 21-year-old central to their future and appear ready to reject even a huge offer.

Spalletti rules out Yildiz sale to Arsenal

According to Metro, Spalletti was directly questioned about Yildiz potentially leaving Juventus before the transfer deadline.

‘I’m comfortable with this situation because the player is Yildiz,’ Spalletti replied.

‘From my point of view, it’s easy… they can offer whatever they want, but I want to play him next season. And he’s the perfect guy to have these discussions like a mature person, and as a result, he knows full well that he shouldn’t rush anything.

‘His future is already important at Juventus. It’s not important because there’s a club that can spend 100 million for him. He’s already at the club that’s offering 100 million for him.

‘We’re all very calm and eager, both ourselves and the player, to showcase the full potential of a potential football phenomenon. And so are the fans.’

The story has continued developing. Football Italia reported that Arsenal made an informal approach involving Gabriel Martinelli plus cash for Yildiz, but Juventus rejected the idea.

Arsenal reportedly continue to admire the forward despite that setback.

Gunners may have to consider other options

Spalletti’s comments could hardly be stronger.

This is not simply Juventus placing an enormous price tag on Yildiz. Their manager is effectively saying that even a €100m-level proposal would not automatically change their position.

That creates a major problem for Arsenal. Yildiz would fit Mikel Arteta’s squad perfectly because he can operate from the left, move centrally and still has significant room to develop.

But Arsenal should avoid wasting the final days of the window pursuing a player whose club clearly does not want to negotiate.

The reported Martinelli-plus-cash proposal also shows just how highly Arsenal rate Yildiz.

Even so, Juventus currently hold all the power.
