As part of the 2026 AVCA First Serve, the Wisconsin Badgers were tasked with playing No. 3 Kentucky and No. 7 Louisville in back-to-back days.
Fresh off a match against the Wildcats, head coach Kelly Sheffield knows another tough test awaits. Yesterday, Kentucky took down Wisconsin in straight sets (20-25, 24-26, 18-25).
Wisconsin isn’t the only team with a grueling schedule, though, and they’re looking to hopefully take advantage of this Louisville squad, one that also had a tough test the day prior against No. 8 Texas A&M, a team they defeated (25-20, 25-23, 20-25, 25-21).
Historically, Wisconsin volleyball has had Louisville’s number, but the Cardinals took home a 3-1 victory in the 2024 season opener, so this is a revenge game for the Badgers, similar to their contest less than 24 hours ago against Kentucky.
