The Nationwide League One, NLO, has warned all clubs under its jurisdiction against participating in unauthorised private leagues and competitions.
The warning was contained in a formal notice issued by the NLO Secretariat on Friday.
The NLO raised concerns that some clubs are engaging in competitions outside the official framework approved by the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, and the NLO.
According to the Secretariat, participation in such competitions is unauthorised and violates the statutes and regulations governing football administration in Nigeria.
The NLO directed all affected clubs to cease and desist forthwith from any involvement in private leagues that have not received prior written approval from the NFF and the NLO.
It cautioned that clubs that fail to comply risk disciplinary action, including suspension, expulsion from the league, forfeiture of results and referral to the NFF Disciplinary Committee.
