The Cincinnati Bengals have one of the NFL’s most recognizable stars in Joe Burrow, but FOX Sports’ Colin Cowherd believes a different member of the offense deserves more attention.
During his latest “Herd Hierarchy,” Cowherd ranked Cincinnati ninth among NFL teams entering Week 2 and made a striking declaration about Chase Brown.
“I think Chase Brown is the best running back in the NFL,” Cowherd said via FOX Sports.
Cowherd mentioned Brown’s production down the stretch last season while explaining his confidence in the Bengals.
Cincinnati enters Week 2 at 1-0 following a 33-27 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Brown opened his fourth NFL season with 16 carries for 56 yards and a touchdown. He added five catches for 22 yards, giving him 78 yards from scrimmage. The score continued an impressive run for the former fifth-round pick, who has now reached the end zone in five of his past six games dating back to last season.
Cowherd also described Cincinnati as the NFL’s second-most-improved team and projected it as a playoff team, pointing toward an upgraded defense alongside Burrow and Brown.
