Alex Iwobi has been congratulated by the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, following the midfielder’s new milestone in the Premier League.
Iwobi became the joint-second most-featured African player in the Premier League alongside Mohamed Salah following Fulham’s 1-0 victory over Coventry City on Saturday.
The 30-year-old has now made 328 appearances in the English top-flight.
“The NFF celebrates Alex Iwobi for this new achievement and we wish him even greater glory. We will be very happy to see him become the African with the most appearances in the Premier League in the near future,” acting NFF General Secretary Emmanuel Ikpeme remarked.
The versatile midfielder will now look to equal the all-time record set by former Cote d’Ivoire international Kolo Touré
Touré featured in 353 matches for Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool.
Iwobi, who started his career at Arsenal has also played for Everton.
