The Los Angeles Rams offense has long leaned on dynamic pass-catchers to drive its production under head coach Sean McVay, but recent metrics highlight just how central wide receiver Puka Nacua has become to the team8217;s success.
According to data from TruMedia, Nacua led all NFL wide receivers in total Expected Points Added (EPA) on targets during the 2025 season, accumulating a staggering 112.3 EPA (h/t Pro Football Network).

Nacua’s impact outpaced the rest of the league by a wide margin. Dallas Cowboys receiver George Pickens finished a distant second with 86.7 EPA on targets, followed by Seattle’s Jaxon Smith-Njigba (75.1) and New England’s Stefon Diggs (69.1).
The advanced data aligns seamlessly with Nacua’s production dominance in 2025. He led the NFL with 129 receptions and finished second in the league with 1,715 receiving yards. Nacua also proved to be a premier scoring threat, securing 10 touchdowns to finish tied for the sixth-most. While his 13.3 yards per catch ranked 34th, his sheer efficiency and volume consistently moved the chains. Nacua led the league with 80 first-down catches and paced all players with an average of 107.2 receiving yards per game.
This historic production was fueled by an intense reliance on quarterback and reigning MVP Matthew Stafford. Stafford targeted Nacua a massive 166 times over the course of the 2025 campaign on the QB’s way to leading the NFL in passing yards and touchdowns.
Whether operating as a high-volume chain-mover or a vertical threat downfield, Nacua proved to be the engine of the Rams’ passing game. This has been the case for Nacua’s three seasons, and it likely won’t change as he enters 2026.
