New Orleans Saints announce inactive players for Week 1 at Lions

Kickoff is 90 minutes away, with the New Orleans Saints hoping to start fast in Week 1 against the Detroit Lions. Both teams have announced their lists of inactive players for Sunday’s season opener; we knew the Saints would be without some key contributors between Cameron Jordan’s hamstring injury and Alvin Kamara’s knee sprain. Of the recent waiver claims Mason Murphy (a right tackle from the Chicago Bears) is inactive, but Decamerion Richardson (a cornerback from the Las Vegas Raiders) is available. They’ll be joined on the sidelines by backup quarterback Zach Wilson, who has been designated the emergency QB3 in case both Tyler Shough and Spencer Rattler go down. Let’s hope everyone stays healthy and productive to set the tone with a win in the first weekend of 2026.
