MLB first basemen power rankings entering week 12

MLB has completed 11 weeks of the 2026 season. Certain players are having great seasons, but injuries are starting to affect some of the game’s best players. Heading into week twelve, here are the top ten first basemen around the league.

1. Ben Rice, New York Yankees

The New York first baseman is having an MVP season. Entering the week, Rice leads MLB first basemen in OPS. He leads the Yankees in hits, total bases, home runs, and RBI.

2. Matt Olson, Atlanta Braves

Olson’s is making a case for the NL MVP award. Entering the week, he leads Atlanta in doubles, total bases, home runs, and RBI.

3. Munetaka Murakami, Chicago White Sox

Murakami has produced tremendous numbers for the White Sox. Unfortunately, he’s set to miss a month due to a hamstring injury. Entering the week, he leads MLB first basemen in home runs.

4. Nick Kurtz, Athletics

Kurtz is following up his strong rookie season with an outstanding second season. Entering the week, he leads the Athletics in RBI and OPS. He is seventh in home runs among MLB first basemen.

5. Willson Contreras, Boston Red Sox

The Red Sox are in last place in the AL East, but that hasn’t deterred Willson Contreras. Entering the week, he leads Boston in home runs, RBI, batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, and OPS. His name is one to watch as the trade deadline approaches.

6. Bryce Harper, Philadelphia Phillies

7. Freddie Freeman, Los Angeles Dodgers

Freeman is on a hot streak. Entering the week, he is fifth in OPS among MLB first basemen. He is third among Dodgers hitters in hits.

8. Alec Burleson, St. Louis Cardinals

Burleson has been the second-best hitter on the Cardinals. He is second on the team in hits and RBI. His production hasn’t gotten enough attention among MLB first basemen.

Walker is having a strong season. Entering the week, he is fourth in home runs and second in RBI among MLB first basemen. After Yordan Alvarez, Christian Walker has been Houston’s second-best hitter.
