The Milwaukee Bucks adjusted their training camp roster on Oct. 6, waiving John Butler Jr. and signing Johni Broome.
The team held a practice Oct. 6 before traveling to Oklahoma City for their second preseason game on Oct. 7.
The 6-foot-10 Broome was the No. 35 pick in the 2025 draft by Philadelphia. He appeared in 11 games for the 76ers, shooting 16.7% from the field and 33% from the free throw line. He was 0-for-5 from behind the 3-point line.

The 24-year-old big man spent most of the season in the G League, playing in 26 games with the Delaware Blue Coats. He averaged 21.8 points, 8.3 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in over 32 minutes per game.
In college, Broome averaged 2.5 blocks per game at Morehead State (2020-22) and Auburn (2022-25).
Butler did not play for the Bucks in their preseason opener against Minnesota on Oct. 5 but did appear in five summer league games. Butler spent last season with the Wisconsin Herd, playing in 49 games for the Bucks’ G League affiliate in Oshkosh.
