Michael Penix Jr. and the Atlanta Falcons are coming off an especially embarrassing loss in Week 8 to Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
After all, the Bucs didn’t even need to complete a pass to eke out a wild shutout win to the tune of a 16-0 score over the Falcons in a Week 8 showdown on Sunday at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.
Penix was also awful in the game, as he went just 8/24 for 125 passing yards with four interceptions. He also rushed for 11 yards on five carries.
Of course, the wet and sloppy condition of the field was a major factor behind Atlanta’s struggles, but at the end of the day, the Falcons still lost to the Buccaneers, who found a way to come up with a victory.
Michael Penix Jr. Promises Such an Ugly Performance Will Not Happen Again

A four-pick game doesn’t always happen for a quarterback, and Penix said it was just the first time in his career ever that he got such brutal treatment from the opposing defense.
“Nah man I ain’t never throw four picks in a game… It’s all good, man. I’m (gonna) shake back, I promise you,” Penix told reporters following the game after getting asked if he had such a game before in his career.

As it stands, the Falcons are at 3-5 after losing three of their last four games.
They will look to turn things around and get back to their winning ways in Week 9 in a neutral-site game, as Atlanta takes on the Cincinnati Bengals in a showdown across the pond at Santiago Bernabéu in Madrid, Spain.
