Unless Philip Rivers comes out of retirement again, Matthew Stafford will stay ahead of him on the NFL’s all-time list for touchdown passes.
With his third touchdown of the night on Monday, Stafford now has 426 in his career. That puts him in sole possession of sixth place on the all-time list, moving ahead of Rivers by one touchdown.
In the same game, Stafford moved into second place in Rams history for touchdown passes, trailing only Roman Gabriel.
Next in Stafford’s sights is Brett Favre, who had 508 career touchdown passes and sits in fifth place all-time. Stafford has a long way to go and will likely need to play at least two more years to reach Favre.

There’s little doubt now about Stafford’s MVP candidacy. With a Super Bowl ring and an MVP in his trophy case, Stafford has all but locked up his gold jacket. And if he keeps playing the way he has, he’ll keep moving up the all-time lists.
