One of the stars of Mark Wahlberg’s Entourage revealed what a potential reboot of the hit HBO series should be about.
Entourage premiered in 2004 and aired for eight seasons before culminating in a 2015 theatrical film. It was the first TV show Wahlberg ever produced. He also guest-starred in four episodes of the dramedy, which revolved around movie star Vincent Chase and his friends in Hollywood, with a premise inspired by Wahlberg’s own life.
Over the years, there has been a lot of speculation about HBO potentially reviving or rebooting Entourage, and now Emmanuelle Chriqui is weighing in with her thoughts. The actress joined the cast during season 2 in the recurring role of Sloan McQuewick, Eric Murphy’s girlfriend-turned-fiancée.
During an interview with ComicBook, Chriqui revealed that she would “love nothing more than a reboot,” though she seemed skeptical that it would actually happen.

If HBO were to greenlight the show’s return, there would have to be a creative examination of Entourage‘s entire premise because the concept of a “bona fide movie star” has devolved over the years.
“Movie stars as we know it, like when we came up…it hardly exists anymore,” Chriqui claimed, before adding that an Entourage reboot should “explore the social media of it all, the influencers of it all, the insanity that whole world is.”
She could see Entourage bringing back the stars from the show’s original run and also casting “the younger entourage that’s doing its thing.” If a revival didn’t incorporate these elements into the show, “it would be impossible to make…’cause it’s literally the world we live in now.”
Emmanuelle Chriqui: “First of all, I would still be here for it; I would love nothing more than a reboot. Don’t know that it’s gonna happen, but I think what would be really cool to explore is…You know, we open Entourage, and it’s Vince, a movie star, and his entourage, and that is hardly around anymore, just a bona fide movie star. It’s like there are people, yes, that are wildly successful, but movie stars as we know it, like when we came up, I don’t know, it hardly exists anymore. I think that with Entourage, it would be wild. I think it would be a necessity to explore the social media of it all, the influencers of it all, the insanity that whole world is. And maybe it’s the older Entourage, like it’s us, and then it’s the younger entourage that’s doing its thing. But it would be impossible to make without incorporating that ’cause it’s literally the world we live in now.”

Aside from Chriqui, the cast of Entourage also included Adrian Grenier, Kevin Connolly, Kevin Dillon, Jeremy Piven, Jerry Ferrara, Perrey Reeves, Debi Mazar, Rhys Coiro, Rex Lee, Scott Caan and Gary Cole.
The series largely received solid reviews from critics, though the final two seasons bumped its average Rotten Tomatoes score down to 66%. Audiences have always been receptive and gave Entourage an 82%.
Entourage won multiple Emmys throughout its eight-season run, with Piven winning three times for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. He also won at the Golden Globes, and the series took home a Peabody in 2008.
After it ended in 2011, Chriqui went on to appear in movies like Super Troopers 2 and the new film Model Citizen, as well as the TV shows The Borgias, Thundercats, The Mentalist, Murder in the First, Superman & Lois and The Lincoln Lawyer.

She also reprised Sloan for the Entourage film in 2015, which failed to break even for Warner Bros. with a box office gross of $49.2 million. It was also a critical failure, earning a 32% on Rotten Tomatoes.
With the gang all back together, the story centered on Vince, now a director, attempting to secure additional funds for his movie after blowing through the budget. The show’s creator, Doug Ellin, returned as director and screenwriter.
Ellin, Wahlberg and multiple cast members have expressed a desire to reunite for an Entourage revival, but HBO executives don’t appear interested in doing so, at least right now.
