Mario Cristobal agrees to long-term extension with Miami

The momentum Mario Cristobal has created in Miami has been recognized and rewarded by the program, as the head coach has agreed to a long-term contract extension that will keep him in Miami well into the next decade.

While the exact terms of the extension are not known, Cristobal is expected to get a raise starting this season from the $8 million he was set to make. The incumbent contract he signed with the Hurricanes was a 10-year deal worth $80 million, that was set to run through 2031.

Cristobal’s overall 35-19 record with Miami in four seasons doesn’t tell the full story of his recent impact, as the program has gone a combined 26-6 in the last two years.
