The Seattle Mariners bolstered their lineup for a postseason push, reportedly acquiring outfielder Taylor Ward in a trade with the Baltimore Orioles on Monday morning.
Both clubs have yet to announce the deal reported by MLB.com’s Daniel Kramer. In exchange for Ward, Seattle dealt reliever Alex Hoppe and minor league pitchers Brock Moore and Harrison Kreiling to Baltimore.

The Mariners sought a right-handed bat ahead of Monday’s trade deadline and landed Ward, who leads the American League in walks (87) and has consistently produced against left-handed pitching in 2026.
In 111 games for the Orioles this season, the 32-year-old Ward hit .246 (101-for-410) with seven home runs and 30 RBI.
Seattle (55-58) trails the Houston Astros by three games in the American League West standings with 49 games remaining in the regular season.
