Liverpool have golden opportunity after bombshell Michael Olise decision

· · 2 min read

Liverpool have got themselves a golden opportunity right after Michael Olise’s bombshell decision on his future.

Liverpool will have to make a big decision very shortly. Their winger situation is out of control, with four left-wingers on the books and zero right-wingers.

That’s not great squad building, we’re sure you’d agree. The Reds have got to balance things out (and in more areas than on the wing) but it’s not an easy task.

For one, the market on the right is truly shocking. Or at least, it was over the summer when Liverpool were looking – there is a chance that a couple of new talents burst forward this season and open it back up.

But as things stand, there aren’t too many options. One is Michael Olise, arguably the best ‘available’ winger on the market. The ‘argument’ there being that he’s available rather than him being the best – he’s the best by a mile if he’s available.

Liverpool have been linked as his future with Bayern Munich hangs in the balance. If Olise doesn’t sign a new contract, it’s expected that the German giants will sell next summer while he’s at his maximum value and the Reds are hovering around just in case.

But Sky Germany report that Olise has made a decision of sorts. He’s either joining Real Madrid or he’s staying put at Bayern – Liverpool are no longer in the equation.

Liverpool’s Endrick opportunity

We believe that Endrick is now the best possible signing Liverpool could make for their right-hand side. It’s a line we’ve pushed for a while now and, reportedly, something the Reds tried in the summer.

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Liverpool made an approach for Endrick, but neither player nor club were wiling to strike a permanent move. That’s a situation which is changing as the Brazilian has struggled badly for minutes this season.

AS reports that Endrick will likely be allowed to leave on loan – but a permanent deal is surely the next step, potentially in the summer. Liverpool won’t have been entirely deterred with the summer’s failure to get him and will surely return once a permanent deal is on the table.

That opportunity appears to be here. It’s one the Reds desperately need, too, with the Olise dream falling to pieces.
