Liverpool have been linked with many different players over the last couple of years.

And, even though they’ve spent well over £600 million, there are still a few positions among their ranks that could do with a change or two.

In the past, this would have been a crazy statement to share but, now, a club would need to spend so much more than that to be completely happy with the players at their disposal.

Obviously, the fact that some players can just emerge from nowhere helps move things along but, most of the time, clubs have to dip their toes into the transfer market and figure out who they want to sign and how much for.

Because, as much as some clubs in the Premier League have an endless money pit, Liverpool aren’t one of them.

So, usually, when they buy a player, they have to be sure that they’re the right one for them otherwise, they could back themselves into a corner.

Liverpool would have to spend €30 million to sign Paris Brunner

Recently, Liverpool’s attack have been receiving a lot of praise for the way that they’ve performed.

Bradley Barcola managed to break his goalless streak against LASK in the Champions League and, others such as Victor Munoz have already managed to exceed expectations.

However, with the recent injuries that Cody Gakpo and Alexander Isak suffered, their lack of depth was put on show.

And, while Lewis Koumas did a good job as the Reds’ number nine, for a team who want to try and add some silverware to their trophy cabinet, they can’t really have him leading their attack.

This caused the rumour mill to start turning with Anfield Watch exclusively revealing that AS Monaco’s Paris Brunner was now on their shortlist.

However, a fresh update from Hooligan Soccer has now shared how much the Reds would need to pay to sign the young German.

“Hooligan Soccer sources have communicated that if Brunner maintains his prolific form, AS Monaco will demand a baseline fixed fee of at least €30 million ($33.6m) to open talks during the January 2027 window,” they wrote.

“Standing at 1.86 meters, the German U21 international offers explosive pace, box composure, and physical strength, making him an ideal profile for the high-intensity tempo of English football.

Paris Brunner is good but his €30m price tag could be a problem

Before the 2026-27 season, Brunner was a relatively unknown player.

He’d only scored eight professional goals before the current campaign with six of them coming in the Belgian Pro League.

But, this season, things just seem to have clicked for the 20-year-old as, in the eight games he’s played for the Ligue 1 outfit, he’s already bagged seven goals.

Earlier in his career, he was also used as a winger but now, it seems like his preferred position is as a number nine.

And, since Liverpool already have Isak and Hugo Ekitike, adding another striker to the mix would be a risk.

Right now, he’s probably one of the most in-form players in France but, if his history proves anything, its that he’s usually rather unreliable.

For most players, €30 million would be a steal but, since this is the 20 year old’s first season where he’s actually playing well, it still feels a tad pricey.

Here’s hoping that a decision is made soon so that the deal can be confirmed before other clubs start driving his price up.
