MIAMI GARDENS, FL – It wasn’t always pretty, but the Detroit Lions did enough to earn their fourth straight win.
The Lions held off the lowly Miami Dolphins, 19-9, on Sunday, Nov. 8, at Hard Rock Stadium in Week 9 of the NFL season.
Jahmyr Gibbs had the game’s only touchdown, an 8-yard run in the third quarter, and Jake Bates was 4-for-4 on field goals for the Lions (6-2).
The Lions’ defense had its third straight game holding an opponent to 17 points or less, and Chuck Clark had an interception for a defense that played without three starters, including linebacker Jack Campbell who remains in a Detroit hospital recovering from a neck injury.

Jared Goff was sacked three times and threw just his second interception of the season as the defense from the Dolphins (1-7) gave the offense problems.
Lions schedule up next: New England Patriots
The Lions travel to Germany next week to face the defending AFC champion Patriots at FC Bayern Munich Stadium. It is the Lions’ first international game since they made back-to-back trips to London in 2014-15. They’ve won four straight and have solidified things in their secondary after a rough start, but will be tested by Patriots quarterback Drake Maye, one of the best young passers in the NFL. The Patriots have won four of five entering their game Sunday against the Green Bay Packers (4:25 p.m., Fox). The Munich game is a homecoming of sorts for Lions receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, whose mother is from Germany.
