The Indiana Fever have spent much of the 2026 season searching for consistent scoring behind their star trio of Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston. Over the last week, though, Sophie Cunningham has reminded everyone why Indiana made her such an important offseason addition.

On Tuesday night against the Toronto Tempo, Cunningham delivered her best performance in a Fever uniform, pouring in 24 points and knocking down six 3-pointers in a 113-91 victory at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Her performance didn’t just energize the crowd. It also drew an immediate reaction from teammate Lexie Hull, who seemed just as impressed as everyone watching.

Sophie Cunningham couldn’t miss against Toronto

The Fever offense was firing on all cylinders against Toronto, but Cunningham’s shooting was one of the biggest storylines of the night. Coming off the bench, the veteran guard scored 24 points in just 24 minutes while adding six rebounds and two assists. More impressively, she connected on six of her seven attempts from beyond the arc, tying the career high she previously set during her time with the Phoenix Mercury.

Indiana’s social media team quickly recognized the achievement, posting that Cunningham had matched her career-best mark for made 3-pointers in a game. The performance helped the Fever cruise to a comfortable win and provided yet another example of how dangerous Indiana can be when role players complement Clark, Mitchell and Boston.

Lexie Hull’s reaction quickly caught fans’ attention

Not long after the game, Hull shared the Fever’s post celebrating Cunningham’s shooting display. Her reaction was short, simple and perfectly captured the moment.

“She’s on fireeeeeee,” Hull wrote on her Instagram story, adding a flexing emoji.

It wasn’t a complicated analysis, but it didn’t need to be. Cunningham’s shooting performance spoke for itself. The exchange also highlighted the chemistry developing within Indiana’s locker room. Hull and Cunningham have become fan favorites for their interactions throughout the season, and Fever supporters quickly embraced Hull’s enthusiastic response.

Sophie Cunningham is finding her rhythm at the perfect time

Tuesday’s breakout performance wasn’t an isolated moment. Just days earlier, Cunningham played a pivotal role in Indiana’s 85-75 victory over the Connecticut Sun. In that game, she scored all 11 of her points during the final two minutes, helping the Fever pull away late and secure another important win.

That stretch has started to look like the version of Cunningham the Fever hoped they were getting when they acquired her. Known throughout her career as a tough defender, vocal leader and reliable perimeter shooter, Cunningham brings a different dimension to Indiana’s roster when her shot is falling. With defenses focused heavily on Clark’s playmaking, Mitchell’s scoring and Boston’s inside presence, Cunningham often finds herself with quality looks from beyond the arc. On Tuesday, she made Toronto pay repeatedly.

Fever getting contributions from everywhere

One of the most encouraging developments for Indiana is that opponents can no longer focus exclusively on stopping Clark. The Fever have now received major contributions from multiple players over the last several games. Mitchell remains one of the league’s most explosive scorers, Boston continues to anchor the frontcourt, and Cunningham has emerged as a reliable fourth option capable of changing a game with her shooting.

That balance could become increasingly important as the season progresses and playoff positioning begins to take shape. For one night, however, the spotlight belonged to Cunningham. And judging by Hull’s reaction, her teammates enjoyed the show just as much as the fans did.
