It has been well-documented that last week was a terrible one for Barcelona as they suffered back to back defeats to rivals PSG and Real Madrid.
It was a worse one for Fermin Lopez, who was a mere substitute against PSG and struggled to impact the game in the Clasico against Real Madrid.
However, Fermin appears to have repaid Hansi Flick’s faith with a solid display of dominance in Barcelona’s 6-1 win over Alaves.

Fermin was the undisputed MVP against Alaves, as he chipped in with one goal and two assists, meaning he was directly involved in three of the six goals.
The Spanish international made his mark early on, playing a key role in Raphinha’s opener as he capitalized from an excellent ball from Pedri.
Fermin then got on to the scoresheet himself with a sublime finish to make it 2-0 for Barcelona around the 23rd minute mark.
His final goal involvement saw him win the ball back in an aggressive press, as he once again set up Raphinha’s second goal of the night.
Overall, it was a top-notch display from Fermin, who has now racked up six goals and six assists in all competitions, making him one of the most productive players at Barcelona apart from Lamine Yamal and Raphinha.
Fermin delighted with the performance

“It was a difficult week for us; we couldn’t win two very high-level, very demanding matches and I think there was no better way or setting to turn things around than at the Camp Nou and in front of our fans,” he said (h/t Mundo Deportivo).
“We played a good game, we found ourselves again, we managed to recover our identity and our true level and now we must continue playing this way,” he added.
When asked about his contributions, Fermin said he was happy to help the team in whatever capacity, adding that he was completely exhausted as Flick had no avenue of subbing him off.
“I have to keep being happy to help the team with assists,” he said.
“Flick told me, even though he knew I was done, that he was going to substitute de Jong and that I should hang on a bit and try to relax,” he concluded.
