Lazio have reopened discussions with Mauro Icardi’s representatives as they continue to explore a potential deal for the experienced striker, according to Sky Italy.
The Serie A club held talks with the Argentine’s camp earlier this summer, but negotiations failed to progress at the time. However, circumstances now appear to have changed, with Icardi reportedly showing a greater willingness to consider a move to Rome following his departure from Galatasaray.
The renewed contact has given Lazio fresh hope that an agreement could eventually be reached, although several key issues still need to be resolved before any deal can move forward.
A crucial stage of the process is expected in the coming hours, with further discussions planned involving head coach Gennaro Gattuso.
