The Vice-Chancellor, Lagos State University (LASU), Professor Ibiyemi OLATUNJI-BELLO, mni, NPOM, has approved the recommendation of the University’s Research Ethics Committee, mandating ethical clearance for all final-year student research projects.
In accordance with the approval and with immediate effect:
- No final-year student shall commence or submit a research project without prior ethical approval duly obtained from the University Research Ethics Committee.
This requirement is compulsory for all categories of students (full-time, part-time, and sandwich) without exception.
Provost, Deans, Directors, and Heads of Department must ensure that proof of ethical approval is verified and documented before accepting and grading any research project.
Finally, non-compliance with this directive will be viewed seriously, as undermining the University policy. The University remains committed to upholding the highest standards of research ethics, integrity, and global best practices.
