The Los Angeles Lakers have been linked to another massive, multi-team blockbuster trade centered on Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo.
On Friday, NBA reporter Evan Sidery named the Miami Heat‘s 22-year-old rising star Kel’el Ware as a potential Lakers acquisition this summer. On Saturday, Sidery switched things up a bit by crafting a monster offseason deal that would land the Los Angeles Lakers a well-documented, 30-year-old shot-blocking star.
“A potential four-team Giannis Antetokounmpo trade framework: (Miami) Heat: Giannis, Bobby Portis, Dalton Knecht,” Sidery wrote on X/Twitter. “(Detroit) Pistons: Tyler Herro + Jake LaRavia.”
“Lakers: Myles Turner + Andre Jackson Jr. Bucks: Kel’el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Isaiah Stewart, Nikola Jovic, Marcus Sasser, Caris LeVert, Jarred Vanderbilt, No. 13, No. 25, future 1sts + swaps (via Miami).”
Although Turner is a below-average rebounder for his size (he averaged 6.6 rebounds with the Bucks last year and is a 6.6-rebound contributor for his career at 6-foot-11), he’s undoubtedly solidified himself as an elite rim protector in the big leagues.
The Texas product has a knack for meeting opponents at their apex and viciously swatting layup and dunk attempts at the rim as a primary or help defender. Turner, who’s averaging 2.1 blocks for his career, recorded 1.6 of them with the Bucks this year.
The Bedford, Texas native is also a legitimate stretch big, capable of playing effective pick-and-pop and pick-and-roll basketball alongside Luka Doncic in Los Angeles. In addition to his 1.6 blocks, Turner contributed 11.9 points on 44.0% field goal shooting and 38.3% three-point shooting this past season.
With Sidery reporting in a separate tweet that the Bucks are looking to flip Turner this summer, it could make sense for him to join a Lakers franchise that would be wise to start fresh at the center position.
