Jalen Brunson will forever be a New York City legend.
He led the New York Knicks to their first NBA championship in 53 years, and he did it in heroic fashion.
Consider him the King of NYC.
That certainly comes with its perks, too.
A video is going viral of a nightlife spot in the city that Brunson strolls straight into, essentially being welcomed with open arms.
At the exact same time, Brooklyn Nets star Michael Porter Jr. is being made to wait. They have to see if he’s on the list.
While it makes a lot of sense, the contrast is ironic and incredible:
Security in NYC checked to see if Michael Porter Jr was on the guest list then let Jalen Brunson walk right in 😅

MPJ was eventually allowed in, too, so at least he got in the door, too.
Doors will continue to open for Brunson in the Big Apple, though. He’s not tall, but he’s recognizable enough that his life in the city has likely changed permanently after winning the championship.
Brunson will be beloved for as long as he remains with the Knicks, and really, long after that, too.
