Lamar Jackson has been ruled out for the Baltimore Ravens‘ game against the Cincinnati Bengals as he attempts to return from a high ankle sprain.
Jackson was listed as limited in all three practices this week. The Ringer’s Tom Pelissero reported Saturday that he took most of his first-team reps Friday and looked good, but the final decision on his availability could wait until Sunday morning. On Saturday afternoon, Baltimore officially ruled Jackson out.
The Ravens host Cincinnati at 1 p.m. ET at M&T Bank Stadium.
What happened to Lamar Jackson?
Jackson injured his ankle against Tennessee on Oct. 4, missing the second half of that victory and Baltimore’s subsequent games against Atlanta and Cleveland. He identified the injury as a high ankle sprain Friday.
Jackson said he was “heading in the right direction,” but cautioned that he needed to move effectively to help his team. His practice participation shows progress, but his questionable designation leaves his availability uncertain.
Who starts with Jackson out?
Tyler Huntley would be in line for his third consecutive start. He helped Baltimore beat Atlanta in overtime before completing 19 of 31 passes for 165 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in last week’s 13-10 loss at Cleveland.
Jackson has thrown for 967 yards, six touchdowns and one interception this season, with a 119.6 passer rating. He has also rushed for 144 yards and a touchdown.
