Kieran Tierney caught up with Celtic’s official club media, following Celtic’s 2-2 draw with AC Milan at Celtic Park on Saturday afternoon, and the Scotland star gave his reaction to what was a good workout for the team against a top side…
Good goals from a high press
Tierney was fresh off of a break, after his World Cup exploits with the national team last month and revealed that he thought the Bhoys played well in the game and added some vital minutes into the legs ahead of our opening Scottish Premiership encounter with Dundee on Flag Day.
“It was good. Good to get minutes in the legs. First one for the new season. I thought the boys played well. Good goals from a high press in that and defended well together,” Tierney summarised.
Both teams who wanted to win
There were a few tasty challenges for a friendly match and when the Celtic defender was prompted on this, he replied:
“It was both teams who wanted to win. I think you could see that. Two good teams going after it. They’re a very good team with with great players and it’s going to happen,”an honest Tierney admitted in the aftermath of the 2-2 draw with our old European rivals.

Camilo Duran – He’s flying
New signing Camilo Duran managed to grab another goal to make it three goals in three games for the striker. On new Colombian attacker Camilo Duran, the Celtic left-back said:
“He’s flying. I think in pre-season it can be hard sometimes to come into a team, but it looks like he’s came in and settled in straight away. Just credit to him and credit to the boys as well.”
Bodø/Glimt’s Kasper Høgh set to join Celtic this week
The new campaign gets underway a week tomorrow and fans will be buoyed by recent developments regarding incomings to the football club. Bodø/Glimt’s Kasper Høgh is said to be nearing a move to last year’s Double-winners with two or three others hopefully going to join the club shortly with a goalkeeper, a back-up left back, a midfielder and a winger still on Martin O’Neill’s summer shopping list.
Celtic squad’s attention is now on Flag Day opener against Dundee
The support will be hoping and praying that those deals get any new additions to the squad ready and available when the Tayside club roll into town a week today.
Kieran Tierney revealed that all the squad are eager to get going for real and can’t wait for the action to begin next Monday night.
“We’re looking forward to it,” Kieran confirmed. “We’ve got a good week’s training ahead, so I’m sure we’ll work hard, get ready for the game.”
