Despite the rain delays, IndyCar found a way to finish all 260 laps, and a familiar face landed in victory lane.
Josef Newgarden and the No. 2 team for Team Penske won Sunday night’s race at World Wide Technology Raceway, earning their second victory of the 2026 IndyCar season. Newgarden was able to hold off Marcus Ericsson, who had one of the fastest cars after leading over 100 laps.
The Team Penske driver is dealing with a foot injury after wrecking in the 2026 Indianapolis 500, but it didn’t hamper his performance in St. Louis. It has been a tough 2026 IndyCar season for Newgarden, but it all came together on a rainy Sunday night at World Wide Technology Raceway.
