Jordan Love Gives a Brutal Self-Assessment After Embarrassing Defeat Against Falcons

The Green Bay Packers suffered a heavy 35–14 defeat against the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday Night Football. Their offensive line was a complete disaster, but Jordan Love refused to point finger on the offensive line.

Instead, he pointed his fingers at himself and his decision making. In his self-assessment, he was quite critical on himself including his footwork and throws.

Forced into heavy volume due to the game script and the lack of a run game, Love dropped back 53 times but failed to find consistent rhythm. He completed 28 of those 53 pass attempts for 312 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception, ending with a passer rating of 75.4. His 52.8% completion percentage highlighted persistent struggles with throwing accuracy and ball placement under pressure, while slow field processing led to missed opportunities and frequent late-down distance issues.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love (10) throws a pass to wide receiver Matthew Golden (0) for a first down during the second quarter of their wild card playoff game against the Chicago Bears Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois.

In the postgame locker room, Love refused to point fingers at the offensive line or the absence of a running game, instead delivering a blunt, introspective critique of his own play.

“To start, my footwork in the pocket… I think making accurate throws, my decision-making, reads, going through those things quickly,” Jordan Love said. “Just the feeling I have right now is not good. A lot of areas we need to improve, but at the end of the day, I’ll just sit here and look at myself and say there’s so much stuff I can improve on to make us as an offense better.”

He stressed on his decision making which could have put more fluent rhythm: “I can improve at making quicker decisions, understanding the coverages, and where I can get the ball out and find completions. I gotta do a better job of just finding completions throughout the course of the game to help us stay on track as an offense and stay out of some of these bad situations. Third and long, second and long.”

But he didn’t just describe what he did wrong, he also acknowledged there’s plenty of time to recover and optimism was one thing that he preached at the end.

Rather than viewing the ugly early-season performance as a reflection of the team’s ceiling, he grounded his confidence in the locker room’s past ability to navigate adversity, specifically drawing a direct parallel to his first year as Green Bay‘s full-time starter in 2023.

“I think we always look back to the 2023 season, my first year starting, it didn’t start well that season as well. And we started figuring stuff out, started getting rolling, and we got hot. So there’s still a lot of ball out there in front of us. No one’s throwing in the towel at all. It’s just we got a lot of work to do to get better as a team and as an offense,” Jordan Love explained.

During that 2023 campaign, the Packers stumbled through a rough 2–5 start filled with execution errors, miscommunications, and growing pains. However, rather than fracturing, the young core made incremental adjustments, developed chemistry, and ultimately won six of their last eight games to secure a playoff berth and launch a surprising postseason run.
