There is a lot of hype surrounding the Philadelphia 76ers this offseason. When a franchise adds the likes of LeBron James and Jaylen Brown to a team with Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey, that is to be expected. The recent videos of their training on social media are only adding to it all.

Videos of the Sixers’ scrimmage games within the roster have been circulating on social media. LeBron James has been seen stepping back and hitting three-pointers, as has Tyrese Maxey. Joel Embiid threw down a left-handed dunk, although he joked after that there might not be many more of those.

Embiid’s health issues have been an inescapable issue during his NBA journey. The former MVP recorded his first slam of last season in January. Managing his lower body health and knee injuries has been a big priority for ‘The Process’.

So it wasn’t too big a surprise when he joked to the media after the scrimmage that this would be the last time he dunks.

“Not bad. I don’t know, that’s probably, I said I would never dunk again,” Embiid said. “In the moment, he did block me the first time, so I was kind of p***** off about it. So I was hoping that he would jump again, so that’s why I went for it. But, yeah, that’s probably the last dunk of my career.”

The comment was a lighthearted one, but sometimes jokes are rooted in some truth. Embiid has many options when it comes to scoring at the NBA level, so he doesn’t exactly need to dunk. However, considering his size, calling any dunk his last ever is never exactly going to be set in stone.
