Jimenez released by Fulham, in-demand Wilson offered new contract

Fulham have confirmed that Raul Jimenez will leave the club upon the expiration of his contract, while Harry Wilson has been offered fresh terms to stay at Craven Cottage.

Jimenez, who is currently preparing for the World Cup with Mexico, joined Fulham in 2023 from Wolves as a replacement for Aleksandar Mitrovic, who left for Al-Hilal.

Since he made his debut for the Cottagers, no player has scored more goals in all competitions for Fulham than Jimenez, who netted 31 times in 115 appearances.

The 35-year-old enjoyed his most productive season in 2024-25, netting 12 goals and providing three assists in the Premier League when Marco Silva’s side finished 11th.

Jimenez managed 12 goal involvements (nine goals, three assists) last season, a total only bettered by Wilson (17), who is in demand after a fine individual campaign.

Wilson’s 17 goal contributions for Fulham was the most by a player for the Cottagers in a single Premier League campaign since Dimitar Berbatov managed 18 in 2012-13.

The Wales international will see his contract expire on June 30, with Liverpool, Aston Villa, Leeds United and Newcastle United all linked with a move for the midfielder.

Wilson has been reluctant to discuss his future publicly, most recently in April insisting talk of an extension would wait until the season ended.

It looks set to be a busy summer at Craven Cottage, with Fulham on the lookout for a new head coach following Silva’s departure at the end of the last campaign.

His 38.2% win percentage in the Premier League is the best of any Fulham boss, and it is reported he is close to returning to his homeland with Benfica.

That speculation has heightened after Florentino Perez was re-elected as Real Madrid’s president, as he has confirmed current Benfica boss Jose Mourinho will return to the Spanish capital.
