The New York Jets debuted their new-look offense in Week 1 of the 2026 NFL season. First-year offensive coordinator Frank Reich passed his first test with flying colors. Reich’s offense was awesome in a dominant 23-10 win over the Tennessee Titans.
The Jets outgained the Titans 367-195. They gained 19 first downs and consistently moved the chains efficiently. Unfathomably, the Jets even had a 19-play drive during the first half that nearly chewed up 12 minutes of clock.
Starting quarterback Geno Smith finished 19-of-24 with 215 passing yards. Smith was not sacked and was hardly even pressured. Reich’s offense consistently had built-in answers for Smith and the passing game. Garrett Wilson was the go-to target, registering six receptions for 79 yards.
No. 1 running back Breece Hall rushed for 102 yards and a touchdown via 22 carries, averaging an impactful 4.6 yards per attempt. Braelon Allen also got involved. The backup running back gained 40 yards on 10 attempts.
Outside of being limited to four field goal attempts, the Jets’ offense didn’t really do anything wrong versus the Titans.
Reich called a balanced game, using passes and runs to consistently beat Robert Saleh’s defense. It was a great debut for Reich as the Jets’ offensive coordinator.
