Jennifer Lawrence's R-Rated Box Office Hit Officially Moves to Prime Video

Jennifer Lawrence truly has a split personality. She is undoubtedly one of the finest dramatic actresses of her generation, and has built herself an extraordinary career playing everything from a teenage revolutionary to a deeply troubled young widow. But the thing about Lawrence as a person is she is a total goofball, a genuine idiot at times (self-confessed, we should add) and that’s what makes her so lovable. But what she did in 2023, when she stepped away from the sort of prestigious dramas that had defined much of her career, was probably the best example of bringing those two lives together into one hysterical R-rated comedy.

Lawrence’s No Hard Feelings has officially arrived on Prime Video in the United States, joining the streaming service on November 1. Directed by Gene Stupnitsky (Good Boys), the movie earned approximately $87 million worldwide and marked a return to the sort of outrageous theatrical comedies that had become increasingly rare.

Maddie (Lawrence) thinks she’s found the answer to her financial troubles when she discovers an intriguing job listing: wealthy helicopter parents looking for someone to “date” their introverted 19-year-old son, Percy, and bring him out of his shell before he leaves for college. But awkward Percy proves to be more of a challenge than she expected, and time is running out. She has one summer to make him a man or lose it all.

after Gravity and before The Revenant.

    which caused a minor uproar.
  • The long-take illusion was built from a handful of extended shots joined by hidden cuts.
  • Four Oscars: Picture, Director, Adapted Screenplay, and Supporting Actor for Javier Bardem.
  • Adapted from Cormac McCarthy’s 2005 novel, with much of his dialogue carried over
    intact.

  • Roger Deakins was nominated twice that year, for this and The Assassination of Jesse James,
    and won for neither.
