The board stressed that merely sitting for the examination and obtaining a result does not guarantee admission, particularly for candidates who have not attained the prescribed admission age.
JAMB also warned parents, guardians and candidates against individuals who may attempt to exploit the situation by promising admission outside the board’s approved process.
According to the board, the final stage of assessment for exceptionally performing underage candidates will be scheduled after the release of the relevant National Examinations Council (NECO) results.
JAMB Warns Against Admission Fraud
JAMB urged underage candidates who do not satisfy the requirements for exceptional admission not to present their UTME results to institutions or individuals in an attempt to secure admission.
The board maintained that the special admission process would be transparent, rigorous and based on merit.
The development means that for underage candidates, the release of their UTME scores represents only one stage in the admission process.
Those seeking exceptional admission must still satisfy the additional conditions and assessment requirements established by JAMB before they can be considered for admission.
