JAMB directs colleges to submit records of illegally admitted students

However, some institutions have continued to admit students without following the prescribed procedures or ensuring that such admissions are properly captured on the JAMB system.

For affected students, an admission that is not recognised within the official system can create difficulties when they need to obtain proof of admission, complete academic documentation or participate in other processes requiring JAMB confirmation.

The practice has also raised concerns over institutions exceeding approved admission limits and bypassing the procedures established to ensure that admissions are properly regulated.

JAMB has consistently warned institutions against conducting admissions outside its approved framework and urged them to comply with national admission guidelines.

With the latest directive, colleges of education are expected to provide the required records so that eligible cases covered by the ministerial approval can be assessed.

The Board’s consideration of the cases, however, will depend on the institutions submitting complete, accurate and properly verified information within the required format.
