Jalen Hurts spent an hour meeting one-on-one with Darius Cooper last week, and the Eagles quarterback believes the results showed up against Jacksonville. In a video from Dave Uram of SportsRadio WIP and KYW Newsradio, Hurts pointed to Cooper’s performance as evidence the time together paid off. The second-year receiver caught two passes for a team-high 71 yards in Philadelphia’s 19-17 loss in London, including a 62-yard touchdown from Hurts.
That score came on third-and-10 in the second quarter and gave the Eagles a 14-7 lead. It was Philadelphia’s longest offensive play of the game and Hurts’ only touchdown pass. Cooper has made his limited receiving opportunities count this season. Through five games, he has seven receptions for 130 yards and four touchdowns, including two scores against the Rams and the game-winning catch against Tennessee.

His involvement increased in London with DeVonta Smith and Marquise Brown inactive. Cooper played 53 of Philadelphia’s 62 offensive snaps, the most among Eagles receivers, but drew three targets. His touchdown supplied an explosive play for an offense that finished with 232 total yards.= Hurts’ account offers a look at the individual work behind their developing connection. Philadelphia has needed contributions from its depth receivers while injuries reshape the offense, and Cooper has repeatedly delivered in scoring situations.
The next opportunity comes Sunday against Carolina. As the Eagles try to end a three-game losing streak, a more consistent connection between Hurts and Cooper could turn occasional explosive plays into a more dependable passing attack.
