Jacoby Light's one-over 36 helps Martha's Vineyard golf top Falmouth

Martha’s Vineyard was one of the last Cape Cod and Islands boys high school golf teams to put a peg in the ground for the 2026 season, but it hasn’t skipped a beat since opening day.

Jacoby Light turned in a round of one-over 36 that included going two-under of his final three holes to power undefeated Martha’s Vineyard past Falmouth 237-253 at Farm Neck Golf Club on Tuesday.

Macallan Moran turned in a two-over 37, Chandler Blau carded a five-over 40, while Ben Kokoszka and Shane Harding posted matching 41s. Peter Williamson shot a 42 to pace Martha’s Vineyard (4-0) in the win.

Martha’s Vineyard has averaged a team total of 238.0 strokes per nine holes and broken 240 in three out of its four wins.

Falmouth (3-2) was led by Matthew Tribou and Jackson Smith, who both posted four-over 39s. Gavin Powderly went around in 40. Logan Friel (45), Grady Cox (47) and Eamon Furfey (48) rounded out the team total.

In other high school sports action:

Bristol Plymouth 7, Upper Cape 0: Baely Ford and Hallie Jessop combined for six shots to lead the Rams (0-1-1) in the loss.

Bridgewater-Raynham 7, St. John Paul II 1: The Lions (1-2-0) lost for a second straight outing.

Martha’s Vineyard 1, Bishop Feehan 1: The Vineyarders (2-1-1) battled to a stalemate on the road with their non-league opponent. They bounced back with a positive result after falling to Nantucket over the weekend.

Upper Cape 0, Bristol Plymouth 0: Sam Reynolds played a great game in net for the Rams (0-1-1), while Noah McLea, Shaun Stanton and Bryce Barton played well in front of him.

Westport 4, Mashpee/Wareham/Bourne 0: Charlie Avilla made eight saves across the first half, while Jasmine Fernandes stopped six shots in the second half for the Mashpee/Wareham/Bourne (1-2). Dierdre Tokla, Emily Legacy and Kelly Assad had strong defensive games. Ainsley Rabello, Lily Gahl and Calleigh Merrill worked hard to create offensive opportunities.

Nauset 3, Martha’s Vineyard 0: The undefeated Warriors (3-0) earned their first shutout of the season after they blanked the Vineyarders (1-2). Zoey Bassett scored twice and Grace Norton added another goal. Sophia Larivee had two assists.
