J.J. Spaun missed out on the Presidents Cup team after Brandt Snedeker chose not to select him for the showdown with the International team.
Spaun did pull out of the Tour Championship with an injury just before Snedeker made his Presidents Cup captain’s picks.
So many believed the 2025 US Open champion had purely been left out of the team due to his injury issues.
However, J.J. Spaun playing this week at the BMW PGA Championship proves that he would have been fine to compete at Medinah, if selected to play on the US Presidents Cup team.
The 36-year-old is really enjoying himself in Surrey, England, this week. He heads into the final round on Sunday just one stroke adrift of the leaders.
The one-time major champion played some really solid golf at Wentworth on Saturday, and he seems to be the player most in control of his golf ball among those near the top of the leaderboard.
And Snedeker may already be regretting his decision not to select Spaun for the US Presidents Cup team.

Spaun has loved competing in the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth this week.
However, below the surface, the usually docile Spaun is clearly burning with desire to win in Surrey, England.
The American obviously always wants to win golf tournaments, but it seems like he has extra motivation to succeed this week.
Spaun responded when asked about his Presidents Cup snub.
“It’s a bummer to miss out on the team events, whether it’s Ryder Cup or Presidents Cup,“ Spaun admitted.
“I’m definitely carrying a bit of a chip on my shoulder this week. I’ll just do my best and try to win.“
A win on Sunday at the BMW PGA Championship would be huge for Spaun, but it would also highlight a big error from Brandt Snedeker.
It hasn’t been a great week so far for the US Presidents Cup captain, with Ryan Gerard playing well too.
Meanwhile, International stars Ryan Fox and Adam Scott have played some superb golf the week prior to the Presidents Cup at Medinah.
If J.J. Spaun or Gerard win the BMW PGA Championship on Sunday, Snedeker will be left wondering what could have been.
