A special initiative and a photographic exhibition created to tell extraordinary stories and life experiences connected to the world of women’s sport. Among the protagonists of the project are two Nerazzurre athletes: Inter Women defender Ivana Andrés and Gilda Pisani, player for the Snakes, one of the Club’s Special teams.
From 1 to 14 June 2026, ONElabMilano, in partnership with the Istituto Italiano di Fotografia, is presenting the GGWCup Exhibition – Women’s Sport Doesn’t Exist, as part of the Global Goals World Cup Milano 2026 project. Via Dante, one of the city’s busiest and most iconic streets, will be transformed into an open-air gallery for two weeks, where stories of sport and female empowerment engage with the everyday lives of those who pass by, stop and take a closer look.
Officially inaugurated on Wednesday 3 June, the free exhibition is open to everyone and brings thirty portraits of women into the public space, celebrating those who have made sport a vehicle for life, personal growth and renewal.
An exhibition, a historic moment
The exhibition forms part of a highly significant calendar of events. June 2026 marks the 80th anniversary of the birth of the Italian Republic and of the first vote for universal suffrage extended to women. Two milestones that bring together sport, rights and culture, enhancing the value of a project that has chosen to give a voice and a face to stories that have too often remained unseen.
The exhibition is held under the patronage of the Municipality of Milan, a recognition that underlines its cultural and civic importance for the city.
Thirty portraits, thirty voices
Athletes, journalists, executives, coaches, entrepreneurs and professionals working across every area of sport: thirty women photographed in Milan’s neighbourhoods and public sporting venues, each with her own story and unique journey.
Every portrait is accompanied by a dedicated landing page, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the project: a video interview in which each protagonist reflects on her life with sport, in sport and for sport, alongside a gallery of candid images capturing unposed moments, the breath before an action, a shared laugh and a gaze turned towards the future.
Inter is represented by two protagonists in the exhibition: Ivana Andrés and Gilda Pisani. Andrés, a defender for Inter Women, has been associated with the word LEGACY, photographed at the Arena Civica Gianni Brera, the home venue of the Club’s women’s first team. Gilda Pisani, a powerchair football player for ASD Snakes, one of Inter’s Special teams, was photographed on a five-a-side football pitch in Via Dezza and shares what the word DETERMINATION means to her.
