With kickoff for the Floyd of Rosedale Trophy fast approaching, the Iowa football program provided a key injury update on some big names.
The Hawkeyes released their Friday injury availability report yesterday. All things considered, it’s a fairly clean report for Kirk Ferentz’s team coming out of the bye week. The following three players have officially been ruled out for this game against Minnesota:
- DB Tyler Brown
- DB Kyler Gerardy
- OL Trent Wilson
There’s no real surprise on this list. Gerardy is out for the season with an injury, and Brown is going to be out for a while, according to Ferentz. Wilson has served as a backup guard this season, so Iowa will hope for no injuries up front in this game. The only other names on the report for the Hawkeyes are kickers Caden Buhr and Eli Ozick. Both players are listed as probable.

The Gophers have ruled out nine players for this game. That includes starting defensive lineman Riley Sunram and tight end Pierce Walsh. Both of those guys are key contributors that Minnesota will have to try to win without. PJ Fleck’s team does have three players listed as probable, with offensive linemen Jaden Bell and Nick Spence looking like they will play.
The final injury report will be released a few hours before the game today. Iowa and Minnesota will kick off at 2:30 p.m. CST on FS1.
