According to Fabrizio Romano, Inter Milan have reached an agreement with Liverpool over the proposed transfer of Curtis Jones. The personal terms have also been agreed with the player and his representatives, and his medical preceding the move is expected to take place next week.
There was much going back and forth on this subject in recent months. Inter’s interest in Jones exists for a while, but their initial attempt to sign him was rejected out of hand with Liverpool deeming their €25 million offer nowhere near enough. A second offer was rejected as well, and there was a moment when the talks halted and Jones was expected to remain at Anfield for what would’ve been the final season in his current contract.
However, Davide Frattesi’s departure from Inter to Lazio left a hole in Cristian Chivu’s squad which obviously had to be filled, and the Nerazzurri redoubled their efforts to bring in Jones.
The fee Inter are expected to pay to Liverpool for the services of the 25-year-old midfielder amounts to €35 million.
