Imo: Uzodinma has never won election - Okorocha

Former Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has taken a swipe at Governor Hope Uzodinma, saying the governor has never won any election in his political career.

Okorocha said this on Thursday during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, shortly after the Federal High Court in Abuja declared him as the authentic APC candidate for Imo West Senatorial District.

He said that Uzodinma’s political history has always been marred by controversy, recalling how he became governor in 2020 after coming fourth in the 2019 governorship election.

“This was the same thing that happened when one person wrote more than 300 results, causing someone who came fourth to become number one. This man has never won any election in his life,” Okorocha said.

He said the recent judgment nullifying Uzodinma’s senatorial candidacy has again exposed the pattern.

DAILY POST recalls that the court, presided over by Justice Obiora Egwuatu, had ruled that Okorocha won the APC senatorial primary held on May 18, 2026, and ordered the party to forward his name to INEC.

Okorocha thanked the judiciary for standing on the side of justice and said the people of Imo West can now breathe a sigh of relief.

“This is a victory for Imo State. The shackles on Imo have been broken,” he added.
