IDP Rookie Profile: Treydan Stukes in Redraft Leagues

We will start with some rookie profiles and how they fit into the landscape of the teams that drafted them. Next up is Las Vegas Raiders defensive back Treydan Stukes.

Stukes enters the NFL after a long and productive career at Arizona, where he developed from a walk-on into one of the better nickel defenders in the country. His best season came in 2025, when he posted 34 tackles, four interceptions, six pass breakups, and earned a 90.1 overall defensive grade from PFF. His size, ball production, and zone-coverage instincts give him a clear path to a defined role in Las Vegas.

Stukes has the type of profile that can earn trust in a sub-package role. He has good size for the slot, processes zone concepts well, and showed strong ball production during his final season at Arizona. That matters in today’s NFL, where nickel defenders are no longer part-time players in the traditional sense.

The problem is that Las Vegas already has Taron Johnson listed ahead of him at nickel. That makes Stukes more of a reserve defensive back and special teams contributor to begin his rookie season rather than a player projected for full-time defensive snaps.

Still, his skill set gives him a specific way to get on the field. Stukes is at his best when he can keep his eyes on the quarterback, read route combinations, and use his length to challenge throwing lanes. If the Raiders need more size in the slot or want a defensive back who can rotate into safety responsibilities, Stukes has enough versatility to earn rotational snaps.

Stukes should not be drafted in most redraft IDP leagues. His role is too limited behind Johnson, and nickel depth players rarely provide reliable weekly fantasy production unless injuries create more playing time.

The long-term outlook is more interesting. Stukes has the ball skills, toughness, and zone instincts to eventually carve out a useful defensive role if Las Vegas develops him properly. His special teams background should also help him stay active on game days while he works toward a larger role.

For 2026, fantasy managers should view Stukes as a deep watch-list player only. He has traits worth monitoring, but his rookie value is limited unless his snap share grows beyond a reserve nickel role.
