Scott McTominay promised he will not take long to recover from a minor heart procedure.
Napoli confirmed on Tuesday that their talisman McTominay has been diagnosed with a “mild benign arrhythmia”.
McTominay was taken off after 56 minutes as Napoli lost 2-1 to Como in Serie A on Sunday.
The 29-year-old will have the procedure in the coming days, and is expected to be out until after the international break, which ends in early October.

It means McTominay is also set to miss Scotland’s fixtures against Slovenia, North Macedonia and Switzerland in the Nations League.
McTominay posted on Instagram: “See you soon Napoli. I won’t take long.”
The former Manchester United midfielder has been a hit since joining Napoli in 2024, scoring 27 goals in 82 appearances and playing a key role in their title triumph in 2024-25.
