Ruben Amorim insisted he was not feeling the pressure during his AC Milan tenure, but he acknowledged it was “impossible to have a lot of time” at a football club.
Amorim has had a mixed start to life in charge of Milan. They are unbeaten in their first six Serie A matches, though they have drawn three of their last four league outings.
The Rossoneri began their Europa League campaign with a 2-0 defeat at home to Benfica, with their next European clash seeing them make the trip to Salzburg on Thursday.
Milan have won nine of their 13 major European games against Austrian sides, with this their first since a 4-0 win against Salzburg in the Champions League in November 2022.
Amorim, however, has now lost each of his last two Europa League matches, as many as in his previous 21 games combined in the competition (W12 D7).
There is already growing pressure on the former Manchester United boss, but ahead of taking on Salzburg, Amorim remained focused on matters on the pitch.
“I don’t read papers or watch TV, so that I can focus on my work,” Amorim told Sky Italia as quoted by Football Italia.
“We are at the start of something. Obviously, we want to win more games and have more points. In regard to the rest, it’s normal at a big club.
“Every project needs time, but nowadays with football media it is impossible to have a lot of time, so it is necessary to win games.
“I am not worried about that, I am focused on winning games, everything else that happens around that is not a concern.”

Salzburg have never beaten Milan in four previous major European encounters, all in the Champions League (D1 L3).
It’s the joint most they have faced a side without winning, along with Bayern Munich (D1 L3) and Inter (L4), but they did start their Europa League campaign with a win.
Danny Rohl’s side won 1-0 against Levski Sofia on MD1, but they have not won consecutive major European games since October 2021, while they last did so with a clean sheet each time in October 2017.
And though they are competing in the Europa League after missing out on the Champions League last season, Amorim urged his players to treat the game as if it is the latter.
“It is always the Champions League, everything is important, every detail, every match is important and difficult,” Amorim added.
“Salzburg are good technically, so we need to be strong on the runs, physically prepared and play our game.”
