The No. 7 Texas Longhorns have left themselves little margin for error for the rest of the year. Although they currently sit in the top-10 of the College Football Playoff rankings, they have two games against ranked teams left, starting with the No. 18 Missouri Tigers.
Missouri in 2026 is an old-school football team, content to run the ball and play solid defense, thanks to one of the most productive backs in the country. Jamal Roberts is third in the country in total rushing yards and rushing yards per game, literally carrying the load for the Tigers. He was a part of a two-headed monster a year ago with Ahmad Hardy, who made his season debut last week after being hit in the leg by a stray bullet over the summer. He was admittedly on a limited number of snaps in his debut, but the Tigers would love to get him back to full-time.
Quarterback Austin Simmons was the starter at Ole Miss before an injury gave Trinidad Chambliss the starting role that he still holds today. Simmons has been elite at taking care of the ball, with just two interceptions through eight games this year, while averaging 30 attempts per game.
