Georgetown enters the new campaign after finishing 7-4 in 2025 and ending the season ranked No. 20 in the NAIA postseason poll. The Tigers compete in the Mid-South Conference and were picked seventh in the league’s 2026 preseason coaches poll. Saturday will also mark the first-ever football meeting between Georgetown and Butler, giving the Tigers an immediate opportunity to test themselves against an NCAA Division I FCS opponent.
Butler opens its season at home at the Bud and Jackie Sellick Bowl before facing a much different challenge at Montana State the following week. The Bulldogs compete in the Pioneer Football League and will look to take advantage of their FCS depth against an NAIA opponent while getting the new season started on their home field. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 PM ET on Saturday, August 29, with the game streaming on ESPN+.
This is a great college football matchup that you will not want to miss; make sure to tune in and catch all the action.
