Portland State heads to San Diego on Saturday to face San Diego State at Snapdragon Stadium, with kickoff set for 9:30 PM ET on USA Network. This will be the second meeting between the programs and the first since 2007, when the Aztecs earned a 52-17 victory.

Portland State enters at 0-1 after a tough 31-24 loss to No. 6 UC Davis in its season opener. The Vikings built a 21-0 halftime advantage before UC Davis rallied with 31 second-half points. Quarterback Tyrese Smith finished with 268 passing yards and two rushing touchdowns, while Portland State showed plenty of promise in its first game under new head coach Chris Fisk.
San Diego State will make its 2026 season debut after finishing 9-4 in 2025, including a perfect 6-0 record at home. The Aztecs are beginning their first season as a member of the rebuilt Pac-12 and return running back Lucky Sutton, who rushed for 1,297 yards and 10 touchdowns last year. San Diego State has also won 11 straight games against FCS opponents as it looks to start its new era with another victory at Snapdragon Stadium.
