How does Texas football fare against the rest of the state? The Horns win 75% of the time

This football season, Texas will face three opponents from the Lone Star State. Games against Texas State and UTSA await the Longhorns in nonconference play, and the Longhorns will eventually close out the regular season Nov. 27 against Texas A&M.

It all starts with Saturday’s season opener against Texas State at Royal-Memorial Stadium.

Traditionally, Texas has fared well against other Texas teams. Over the past 10 years, the Longhorns have posted a losing record against in-state rivals on just one occasion. In all, Texas is 27-9 against state teams in that span – a 75% winning percentage.
